The Bottleneck
Machines can now plan, reason, and act. But every decision rests on what their sensors can resolve — and perception, not intelligence, is now the limit.
We are building affordable, indigenous SWIR image sensor chips — lead-free Indium Arsenide (InAs) colloidal quantum dots on standard CMOS — so every machine can see, and act, beyond visible light.
Drones, Robots, and Autonomous Systems are moving into the real world — where conditions are unforgiving and the cost of failure is high.
SWIR gives them night vision, and cuts through smoke, haze, dust, and light fog. The technology works — but today's SWIR is far too expensive to deploy widely. We build it on standard silicon instead — bringing reliable vision, and with it autonomy, to every machine that needs it.
The Thesis
The intelligence is ready. The perception isn't — we're making SWIR affordable and indigenous, so every machine can finally see.
Machines can now plan, reason, and act. But every decision rests on what their sensors can resolve — and perception, not intelligence, is now the limit.
Conventional cameras fail in the conditions autonomy can't avoid — darkness, glare, smoke, haze, dust, and light fog. The moments that matter most are the ones they miss.
Shortwave infrared already sees through all of it. But today's SWIR stays far too expensive to deploy beyond a few high-end systems.
Our First MissionADRISHYAM TEJAS
SWIR imaging for drones, ISR, and the soldier — designed and built in India.
Nearly every night sight, drone payload, and ISR system India fields relies on an imported infrared detector — the one layer of the imaging chain we don't yet make at home, and one that is tightly controlled abroad. Programme Adrishyam changes that: India's first indigenous SWIR image sensor chip, built for the platforms that must see first, and act with confidence.
Milestone — Field-ready prototype in 18 months
Low-light vision without visible illumination — no lamp, no visible signature.
Clear sight through smoke, haze, dust, and light fog.
Reveals camouflage, decoys, and what visible cameras miss.
Applications
Proven first in defence at home, then priced to go everywhere. Once SWIR is affordable it doesn't stay in the cockpit — the same chip serves the battlefield, the factory floor, and the device in your hand.

Situational awareness in darkness, smoke, haze, and light fog.

Airborne perception for navigation, monitoring, and ISR.

Cuts through darkness, haze, and camouflage.

Reliable sensing through glare, haze, and low-contrast road scenes.

Detects defects and material composition invisible to standard cameras.

Lead-free, low-power SWIR for wearables, phones, and everyday devices.
